This complex of five buildings offers one of the largest collections of fine arts in the United States. Among the samplings from pre-history through modern civilization are the museum's two sculpture gardens, one offering contemporary work and the other masterpieces by Rodin. There are also a number of special exhibits every year. A restaurant is on the premises. Open Friday until 9 PM; Sunday family programs are available, as are free concerts on Sundays at 6 PM. The museum is closed Wednesdays, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
