There is a colorful 60s aura to this popular white sandy beach. Actually, visitors may choose from two beaches. The north beach is for more experienced swimmers and surfers. The south beach is ideal for family swimming and sunbathing. Both beaches are guarded in season and permit barbecuing. The longest municipal fishing pier on the coast is located here, and no license is required. The nearby boardwalk is perfect for bicycling, roller skating, and strolling. Cafes and shops are found nearby. Rest rooms and parking are on-site. The north beach is located off of I-8 on Voltaire St., and the south beach is off of I-8 on Abbott St. Parking is at the foot of Santa Monica Ave.
