This is the largest and finest interpretive railroad museum in North America. Visitors will see retired and restored steam and diesel locomotives and passenger cars, plus antiques actually used in the industry. Special displays and events supplement exhibits. Visitors can climb aboard the Sacramento Southern Railroad for a scenic ride along the Sacramento River. Also, steam trains run weekends from April through September. Trains depart on the hour from 11 AM to 5 PM from the Central Pacific Freight Depot at Front and "K" Streets in Old Sacramento.
