Comprised of the Natural History Museum, the Steinhart Aquarium, and the Morrison Planetarium, the California Academy of Sciences has closed its door in Golden Gate Park until 2008, while an extensive rebuilding project takes place.
In the meantime, you can visit their temporary headquarters at 875 Howard St, where exhibits include aquatic creatures from the Steinhart, a naturalist center, and prototypes of the displays planned for the new Academy. Temporary natural history exhibitions are also on hand.
