The State Capitol building, which was reconstructed between 1975 and 1982, contains seven house museum rooms, each one reflecting a turn-of-the-century office in the State Capitol. There are permanent and changing exhibits as well as a theater. The grounds include a 40-acre park which is the oldest arboretum west of the Mississippi. Guided or self-guided tours are available. From I-5 south, take the "J" street exit. From I-5 north, take the "Q" street exit.
