The shoreline at Long Beach stretches for eight miles. Harbor tours and deep-sea fishing expeditions set out from Rainbow Harbor. Nostalgic seafarers enjoy tours of the 81,237-ton Queen Mary, the famed Cunard liner now converted into a hotel and museum. Close by is the re-created 19th-century Shoreline Village. Also nearby is the Long Beach Museum of Art, containing a fine collection of 19th-century to present-day California art, including sculpture and video art. Recreational opportunities are plentiful, including fishing at Belmont Pier, swimming and boating at Alamitos Bay and the Municipal Beach, and golfing at several public golf courses. In April the city is the scene of the Long Beach Grand Prix, an international automobile race held on the downtown streets.
