Located in Lincoln Park, with a fine view of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Legion of Honor displays a collection ranging through 4,000 years of ancient and European art. Officially known as the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, the beautiful Beaux-Arts building was established as a monument to those Californian soldiers who gave their lives during World War I. The collection includes 70 sculptures by Rodin, including one of his most well-known pieces, The Thinker.
