 Two sites totalling 5,000 acres on Lake Somerville offer plenty of camping areas with hookups. Water lovers can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, and waterskiing on Lake Somerville. The park also has over 20 miles of hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking trails. Birch Creek Area on the north shore is 15 miles west of Somerville. The Nails Creek Area on the south shore is 32 miles southwest of Brenham. Campsite reservations are recommended.Pets: Leashed pets are permitted. Reservations and Fees: Texas has a central reservation phone number for all state campgrounds: 512-389-8900. This is not a toll-free number, but there is no fee for making reservations. Every Texas state park charges a day-use fee for visitors 13 years and older. Senior discounts may be available. The fee varies from park to park. This fee is over and above any campsite fees.
