Under the Settings Menu (accessible by pressing the M button), you will find the MOTION DETECTION option.  Enabling this causes loop recording to pause when your vehicle is at a complete stand-still to avoid recording when you are waiting at a railroad crossing, for example.  This may result in the video to appear odd when played back.  Disabling the motion detection option will eliminate the pauses.
